"Chief", "Senior", and "Top executive" are all different names for a very important employee in a company.
For example:
"John is our top executive, he makes a lot of money!"
and
"John is our chief executive, he makes a lot of money!"
Both sentences mean the same thing. Some firms just use different names. :)
