Give up means you are
Tired of trying and now you just don't wanna do it anymore.
Ex I gave up on learning Spanish.
Gave in means trying or regestring yourself in some kind of activity.
Ex I gave in my name for local gymnastic tournament

The meaning could be very similar depending on context. You can "give in" to some kind of pressure (temptation or stress or anger etc) or you can give up because of the same pressure. In this way they both mean to relent/stop trying.
For example a mum could give in to her daughter's demands for a new phone, or she could give up on resisting her daughter's demands for a new phone...
Daughter "oh my God, come on mum, this old brick doesn't even have a decent camera! Just buy me a new phone!"
Mum "fine! I give up..." or "fine! I give in..."
