They are very similar, and can often be used interchangeably. But there are a few small differences.
To be blunt about something -
is to be abrupt,
to say something without hesitation,
it usually implies that what you are going to say is negative (but not always, it is just commonly used that way).
Example - To be blunt, I don't like your dress.
To be upfront about something -
is to be truthful
to be straightforwards
Example - I am going to be upfront with you, it is hard to learn a new language.
