Actually, "você é" is more commonly used in Brazilian Portuguese which is the equivalent to the European Portuguese expression "tu és". In Portugal, some people have a tendency to say "você é" when speaking to elderly people. BUT it's often seen disrespectful because it's a sign of not having a proper education about it and lower status... But many people make the mistake to use it...
