Help is a very active action: when you help someone you might join in with what the person is doing or do the action for them instead.
For example: when helping someone to carry something, you might hold their bags with them or even carry the bags for them.
When helping a couple with marriage problems, you might intervene in their arguments and sit down to have long discussions with both of them.
Support is more of a passive action: when you support someone you don't really do the action for them, but you encourage or motivate or do something that benefits the person so that this person can carry out the action by themself more effectively or successfully.
For example, when a parent supports their child that is at university, they might send them money and food so that their child can live and study more comfortably. (But the parent doesn't come and 'help' them write their essays)
When supporting your favourite sports team, you might cheer them on really loudly at a game to encourage them and motivate them to play better. (But you don't suddenly join in the game and 'help' them to play)
