"Parents and children should free to decide whether let their children go to school or not."
子供を学校に通わせるかどうかは、親と子供の自由な判断によるべきだ。
Is this sentence in English correct? Is there a way I can make it saying more natural?

I think "parents and children" is strange here. The grammar is fine, but do you really mean to let 8-year-olds have a say in whether or not they go to school?
Also, if you say:
Parents and children should be free to decide whether to let their children...
then "their" refers back to "parents and children," which is very strange. This implies that "parents and children" have children.
X and Y must decide about their Z. <--- Z belongs to X and Y
Parents should be able to decide whether or not to send their children to school. Children above a certain age should also have a say in the matter.

@egoist_E No worries. That sentence is a bit complicated. I was just trying to say that it was strange to me if young children could decide about school. I used the example of an 8-year-old. That seems too young to decide such things.

@egoist_E Ah. I understand Thank you.
If a child has a good reason for not wanting to go to school, such as bullying, I believe parents should be allowed to not send them.
