@NickAiden unfortunately, those sentences are mutually exchangeable😂. “Adhere to the terms of the contract”, “abide by the terms of the contract”; “adhere to the principles”, “abide by the principles”.

@Sp1kk1o as far as I’m aware, “abide by” and “adhere to” can be freely used to substitute one another in a sentence while having the same meaning.
They only have differences in meaning when you single out “abide” and “adhere”.

[Abide by something] is to follow a rule.
Example: If the employee decides not to abide by the contract, he will surely lose his job.
[Adhere to something] is to continue to behave according to a particular rule, agreement or belief.
Example: We adhere to the principles of equal rights and freedom of expression for all.

Oh thank you, you have definitively brought home to me! (This sentence isn't totally right, is it? 😌)

@Sp1kk1o not quite right :/ You could say “you make me feel right at home” or “you remind me of how it’s like to be back home”.
I think the expression makes more sense in Italian!

@Maxthegreat Oh no I was just trying to study phrasal verbs (I have an important exam Saturday) and I've heard that "bring home" can also rarely mean "clear up" or something 🙈 Evidently it isn't that common 😅
