I think you might be asking about "aqua" which means "water" in Latin. In America, we say the "qu" as a "gw." We use this in a joking context rather than a formal context. You can say to your friend or family "Can you hand me that bottle of aqua?" and they might laugh or give you a funny look. It can also mean a blueish green color.
