Depending on the platform, (android, iphone, windows, mac...etc...) The one time fee is really cheap and worth it!
Just click on the first box (Learn Japanese from square one.) Watch the video, and then go all the way down to try out a trial on the platform of your choice.

@WagonBoy Yes it is worth it.... It will take you from zero knowledge, all the way to figuring how to learn by yourself... If you want though, there is also an intermediate version.
You can try the trial for both beginner and intermediate.
