i'm off is used when you move quickly like
i'm off in bed.
i'm off to have coffee.
i'm going , is the action of moving, i'm going to is future.
when you already decided to do something or to go some where but you don't know the detail yet .like:
i'm going to the cinema tonight
i'm going to eat pizza
also when the actions is in progress
hey what are you doing?
i'm going to drink a cup of tea .

@bakedbeans We have a lot of expressions for ending conversations, or leaving a group. Many of them are informal and friendly.

Also, "OK, I'm off", "Must dash", "See you later", etc. etc.
If you don't know the people so well you might say "I'm going" in the same way.
Right, I'm going now... etc.
There are no rules for this and our expressions are often quite informal. 🙂

@Buldge I think the question is just about expressions when you leave a person or some people.
"Which is more natural, when you leave ..."
Your answer includes other situations and actions, which is fine. "I'm off to bed" is the phrase by the way. Otherwise your answer is OK. 🙂
