Good evening or good morning! I have a question about a couple of phrases, the use of which I often get confused about.
'We read aloud bits of the book in turn.'
'We took it in turns to read aloud bits of the book.'
Are both of these the correct ways of saying the idea that they read aloud the book one after the other repeatedly?

Both are correct, however you can substitute 'bits' for 'parts', or even 'passages' since you're talking about books.
