your answer: "That place sounds great. " or "That place sounds pretty good"(but you woukd generally only use these if your friend tells you what type of restaurant it is otherwise you would not know if the restaurant is "great" or "pretty good". unless the conversation was as follows:
you : "I am quite hungry"
friend: "There's a delicious restaurant around here."
you : "that sounds great".(this is said meaning a confirmation that you would like to go to the restaurant.)
If you don't know of the restaurant or havent had their food before and yiur friend doesnt say what the restaurant sells or the type of restaurant then you can say :"lets try it out"

If you haven't been to the restaurant before but you heard it's good by someone you can say "I've heard that place is great" "I've heard that place is pretty good" otherwise if you've never been to the restaurant you can't say it's great.
