@osjean857 "To" is a preposition used in the infinitive form of a verb. To go, to run, to sleep. "I am going to run." "She gave the book to me." (To give).
"For" is often used in answers to questions. Where are you going? I am going for a run. Why do you have that book? To study for my exam. I got a gift for you. Who did you buy the gift for?
You are offering extra information using "for" so a question really is not needed.

I go to the store to buy food. I bring a bag for my groceries. I choose some flowers for my wife. I buy medicine for my headache. I talk to the cashier. I walk out to my car. I drive to my neighborhood. I give the gift to my wife. She hugs me for a long time. (As you can see, "for" and "to" are used in many ways!)
