한테 can be used as both 'To' and 'From' while 한테서 is only 'From'.
ex.
나 그녀한테 선물을 받았어 = 나 그녀한테서 선물을 받았어 I've got a present from her.
나 그녀한테 선물을 주었어 I gave a present to her.
Just use '한테' simply if these words confuse you. doesn't matter at all.
