A gesture is a movement performed by the body, like waving your hands, for an example
Body Language, is the signals you communicate due to your posture and gestures. For an example: When people are uncomfortable they tend to cross their arms, therefore if you see someone with their arms crossed you can say their body language shows they are feeling uncomfortable.
In summary: Gestures are the movements themselves and body language is what they convey.

A "gesture" is an intentional/purposeful motion of a body part (such as your hand or head) to signal something to other people. For example: "He gestured for me to come closer" (he moved his hand in a way that indicated I should come closer to him)
"Body language" is more general. It includes both gestures and unintentional body positions/motions (e.g. how your hands or head move naturally when you talk or listen). Body language can also include "posture" and "gait" (position or stance of the body and the way you walk).
Basically body language includes any information that you can analyze about a person (about that person's mood, thoughts, intentions, etc.) from looking at the way they move their body or the way their body parts are positioned.
It's called a "language" because you communicate lots of information to other people through your body positions/movements even though it is not verbal and often is not intentional.

A gesture is usually a conscious motion of the body, e.g. Bowing. Body language is often times subconscious, but can be conscious as well, e.g. When a person faces their body towards you when speaking to show that they are engaged in conversing with you. Body language is often times much more complex than simple gestures.
