what do you casually call your country? The Philippines is too long to type. I heard the word Phils for it.

Pinas is the most common amongst Filipinos. I sometimes call it "Phili" although apparently Philly is short for Pennsylvania ;-;

Pinas or Phil, although Phil can be confused with Philadelphia. You can use RP too for Republic of the Philippines

@shinchandesuyo I remember you already asked this and I answered you. Like I said, “PINAS” is the LOCAL COLLOQUIAL term for the Philippines. It's an ABBREVIATION in Filipino. FILIPINOS SAY PINAS. The stress is on “nas”: pi-NAS. :)
“Phils.” is an abbreviation in the English language, but WE NEVER SAY THIS. I have never heard anyone say it. It is used only in company names or product labels, for example.
For example: “Human Aggregates Phils. Inc.,” “ISS Facility Services Phils. Inc.,” “TVI Resource Development (Phils.) Inc.,” “Pac-Atlantic Lines (Phils) Inc.,” “MAA General Assurance Phils.,” “MSI-ECS Phils.”
“Pilipinas” is the STANDARD word in the Filipino language. “Philippines” is English.
“Philly” is a nickname for Philadelphia in USA.
WE DO NOT SAY “Pilipin.” That's Japanese (フィリピン) and Korean (필리핀)
And DO NOT use “RP” because not everyone will understand. “PH” or “PHL” are the most common two-letter and three-letter abbreviations for the Philippines.
Don't be too lazy to type Philippines. It's NOT “TOO LONG.”
