While walking in downtown with Chipotle bag, I was talked to by a young black guy to ask for giving something. I said to him "sorry" as the meaning of rejection.
But he replayed to me again and again " why do you say sorry?""what do you sorry for?"
Is the word "sorry" not suitable for this situation to express NO?
