I personally like Galway and Cork but they are big cities. Maybe the dingle peninsula is more what you are looking for

If you like typical small traditional Irish towns then I think county Kerry is for you! I really liked a town called Kenmare

I find that cork city even though it's a city it's very quite and doesn't give off the vibe of a normal city.
