Qual é a diferença entre 죄송하다 e 미안하다 ?Podes indicar apenas respostas exemplo.
I know they both mean "sorry", but one of them is the more intense one, like you're really really sorry about something.
One person told me that 미안하다 is the most used and the least intense. It's like you're saying "sorry", with not much power, but you're sorry for something. This same person said that 죄송합니다 is formal and It's like you're "really really sorry about something". Both is commonly used.
BUT, another person said, for example, If I bump into someone on the street, I can say: "죄송합니다" and their meaning is the opposite: 미안하다 is more used but it's intesive and poetic, while 죄송합니다 is formal and less intensive.
I don't know who's right - and I don't mind about it hahaha - but I know NOW I'm confused hahahahaha Please, someone explain to me and If possible give me some examples.

I think it’s not a matter of intensity. 죄송하다 is just formal, and 미안하다 is just informal. Even if I were to burn my friend’s hair off, I would say (진짜) 미안해.

@kiivihillo LOL the example HAHAHAHAHAHA thank you
But, If 죄송하다 is formal and 미안하다 informal, even If I conjugate 미안합니다 is it still a little informal to use with a person older than me, for example, right? In that case, the best form would be 죄송합니다 or whatever?

@julisme you have to use 죄송 in formal place or older person.
미안 is only use friends or younger person.

@julisme Some old people tend to say 미안합니다 to younger people. So, you basically wouldn’t hear someone say 미안합니다 most of the time, and you don’t want to say that either. Just either 미안해 or 죄송합니다.
And yes, the best form would be 죄송합니다.
By the way, aside their levels of formality, you might be going to hear “ㅈㅅ“ online. This stands for “죄송“, but it’s not that the person wants to be formal towards you. This is an exception.
