->Kaydımı yaptırmak (it's not 'kaydım yaptırmak') 
🔹Kaydımı bu okula yaptırdık. 
🔹Kaydımı geçen sene bu kursa yaptırdık.

Also a couple other common alternatives (depends on different situations)
🔹Yüzme kursuna geçen sene kayıt yaptırmıştım. 
🔹Bu okula kayıt olacağım.

->"Yolcuları dedemin evinde barındırıyoruz." this is the proper version of your sentence.

3, 4.sentences are accurate.

-> "ziyan" means "waste/wasted" in English and "boşa harcanmış/araya verilmiş" in Turkish, pretty common word which comes from Persian.
Examples

Here "Yemekleri boşa harcama" doesn’t sound that proper, we usually use the verb "boşa harcamak" with "water" like "suyu boşa harcama" or "money" like "paranı boşa harcama" plus using "ziyan etme" or "araya verme" doesn’t fit with the "water" and "money" examples, ziyan etmek is oftenly used with perishable things.

"Ziyan" means "waste" as a noun.

"Ziyan etmek" means "to waste" as a verb.

(İf we don't eat the vegetables, they're gonna be wasted)
