です indicates "statement", while でしょう usually alludes to a situation of "uncertainty", where in English you can understand it as adding a ", right? " at the end of every sentence instead of simple period. Examples are as follows:
このあいだ送った写真は,見たでしょう。
Have you checked the photos I sent you the other day?
このボールペンはあなたのでしょう。
Is this your ballpoint yours?
On top of that, でしょ can also be used in an euphemistic way, such as:
彼はきっと来るでしょう。
He is bound to come. (in this situation, the soliloqist is actually sure he will come, but he use でしょう to express euphemism.)
