Pergunta sobre Inglês (EUA)
I am learning English construction: many times as … as
I have a few sentences with this construction. I would like you, English native speakers, to check this sentences and answer such questions as:
Are these sentences grammatically correct and can be used on exams ?
Can these sentences be used in everyday English speech ?
So there are the sentences:
Now this road seems many times as long as the one we walked along yesterday. -
She is many times as clever as her brother. -
He is many times as slow as his younger brother. -
The old park is many times as beautiful as the new one. -

The first and last ones sound natural to me.
She is many times more clever than her brother – this is how people would say it
He is many times slower than his younger brother – again, people simply would not phrase it in the way that you have. In fact, it seems very unnatural to talk about somebody being – slow – in this countable kind of a way. I actually would expect people to say something like – he is much slower than his younger brother. You see, we are not talking about numbers.
