"I'm not that close to them" is better.
I'm not that good of a friend to them (your original isn't grammatically correct) means that you aren't a "good quality" friend to them: you're friends but don't treat them very well.

@u-1 you're welcome! just to make sure I was clear, those are different. "We're not that close" should be the best match for your sentence. Native speakers also say "We're not that good of friends", but I think that might not be grammatically correct 😅
