Pergunta sobre Inglês (RU)
I can’t understand the difference in meaning and nuance between
“Would you be able to give me a ride to town?”
and
“Would you give me a ride to town?”
Could you please explain it to me?

In the first one you don't know if the person has the means to take you to town. Maybe their car is broken, or they have an appointment somewhere else.
In the second one it sounds more like you know the person is about to go to town and you hope they'll let you go with them.
