「throw ~ away」という言い方は知っていますね。
「~をなくすために捨てる」という意味ですね。
同じように、「smile ~ away」というパターンは「~をなくすために笑う」という意味です。
ですから、この歌の場合に、「smile it away」は「前に傷ついたことをなくすために(又は隠すために)笑う」という意味です。
「smile」と「throw」以外に「<動詞> ~ away」というパターンに使える動詞がたくさんあります。
もっとも頻繁に見かけるのは「wish ~ away」だと思いますぅ。
