Okay, I guess that save your nerves doesn't sound too bad in that context.
"Save time" is of course an extremely common phrasal verb. Everybody is used to hearing that.

We say, soothe your nerves.
"Save your nerves" doesn't sound very good in that sentence, but on its own, as a suggestive statement? I think it sounds quite good. I'm going to try and use it in a real situation.
