Многие известные японцы очень крутые: Куросава, Акутагава, Мураками... Басё, Кобаяси Исса, Догэн 😄
Многие японцы мне симпатичны и, несомненно, интересны, так как это совершенно другая (и весьма богатая) культура и другой взгляд на мир.

Лично мне кажется (и меня это удручает), что японская нация и особенно мужчины повально страдают невротическими расстройствами, поскольку давление общества на отдельную личность чрезмерно высоко. На мой взгляд, современным японцам не хватает внутренней свободы и уверенности в себе.

That's an interesting question, and I would like to be honest, so please, don't get offended.

There are, of course, some stereotypes about Japanese people in Russia. Nothing new to you, I'm sure: "Japanese are weird" is number 1, "Japanese work too much and even die in their offices" number 2 and "Japanese men have an unhealthy interest in schoolgirls and have many sexual deviations" number 3. I guess, those are the most popular,they are influenced by contemporary culture, including anime. Russian men often see Japanese men as having a bit feminine looks, which is, again, influenced by anime and pop-culture.

At the same time, those, who are interested in war history, often believe Japanese to be extremely cruel and sadistic (Nanking Massacre, Unit 731, Morimura Seiichi's book "The Devil's Gluttony (悪魔の飽食) is translated into Russian).

This is the negative side. There is a positive one as well - thanks to art and culture, classic and contemporary literature, anime, history. Japanese are definitely seen as a nation with rich and interesting culture. The general attitude towards Japan in Russia is most likely neutral-positive (subjective impressions, of course) + there is a percent of Japan fans (=anime fans in most cases).

Speaking for myself, as a Russian woman, I find Japanese men and women quite attractive in general, I like their love for order, their politeness, and their ability to see beauty in nature. But again, I may be influenced by literature and art. I have only met Japanese tourists in Sweden and in St. Petersburg, and they behaved very different from Chinese tourists (exactly like I expected). Thinking about the Japanese, I always remember James Ballard's quote from 'Empire of the Sun" about Japanese being lonely inside. That's the impression they make.

I don't like them much for their gregariousness and for their support fascist party "自由民主党", but it is tolerable. What is really annoying is that so many of them hate Koreans — culturally Korea is closest country to Japan, so they hatred to Koreans remind me similar idiotic hatred many Russian people towards Ukrainian.
If you are looking for a Russian partner, it's would be rather easy — Russians are prone to international marriage, so if you are not nationalist, you will get along. Try some language exchange sites like InterPals there is a lot of Russian people there who want to make Japanese friends.

自民党 is chose by process of elimination.
・Japanese like Koreans! especially young one loves Koreans / Korean culture.
However, it can be said that old people hate Korean government (not Korean people)
