Rapid bus, quick bus, fast bus. But why does the government say "Bus rapid transit"? Based on what they didn't say "Rapid bus transit"?

@rjosamasaid Here, the rapid refers to the speed of the transit, not the speed of the bus. For example, a rapid bus might provide a slow transit, if the route is not direct and has many stops. A slower bus, on a more direct route, might provide a shorter transit time.
