Um pouco artificial
The phrase "I'd best get those brakes seen to." Is correct, but I would never say that out loud. It sounds like something an old, rich, fancy British man would say. I'm not an old British man. I'm a youngish man living in a big city. I'd say "I need to get those brakes checked out."

Also, because the person says "the brakes" in the first sentence, I wouldn't say it again in the second sentence. I would say "The brakes aren't working right. I need to get them checked out." By "checked out" I mean I need to take them to a mechanic and have the mechanic look at (or check out) the brakes.

Oh, thank you! Actually the sentence was from a British animation movie. Wallace and Gromit. The actual line was 'I must get those brakes seen to." At first, I thought it might be incorrect in grammar, but it's not. Also glad to learn how it sounds like in these days.
