@tttttkkkkk “could” is more uncertain than “was able to”. You could do it, but that doesn’t mean you did. If you were able to do it, it sounds more like you actually did do it. They are very similar.
I could go to the store. - I could go to the store but might not actually do it.
I was able to go to the store. - I had the ability to go to the store, and it is usually implied that I did unless I say I was able to but did not actually do the task. (“I was able to go to the store, but didn’t have time.”)
