I started falling into a/the fantasy world.
It sounds fine, but do you want "a" or "the".
"The fantasy world" means a particular one, maybe one that you've been talking about before, or the same one that you've fallen into before.
"A fantasy world" means no particular one, just some fantasy world, maybe one that you've not imagined before.

@eaa5 I thought this was a negative condition. You're losing reality and "falling into" a fantasy world.
If you mean it to be a positive thing, you might say: "I started to *drift* into a/the fantasy world." This would be in the same sense that at night you relax in your bed and drift off to sleep.
