gotta is a contraction of "have got to" or "have got a." So, you can use it in place of those phrases.
"I have got to go to the store." "I gotta go to the store."
"I have got a new car. "I gotta new car."

gotta is just, got + to.
so if you know how to use "got to" in sentences it will be very easy for you.
here are a few examples:
I got to go to school early today.
I gotta go to school early today.
she got to buy lots of food for the guests.
