I read "The Fireman" by Joe Hill.
It's a novel about a pandemic, by which the world is nearing its apocalyptic ending.
When Infected with the disease, people would sooner or later burn themselves to death.
There seems to be no cure, and those spontaneous combustions spread fire around the world,  burning everything on the Earth.
Then, uninfected people begin to chase and kill the infected.
Harper Grayson, a school nurse, is the protagonist.
When Harper's infection is revealed, her husband somehow believes he is infected too and tries to kill her, and himself later.
After narrowly escaping from her husband, Harper is saved by a man whom his friends call the Fireman.
The Fireman is able not only to suppress spontaneous combustion but to control the fire at will without burning himself.
