It should be:
I'm hanging out with my friend on Thursday, but we're not so close anymore, so I think it's going to be awkward.
(missing commas and capitalize Thursday)
Also, personally, I'd change "we're not so close" to "we're not that close," so it sounds a bit more natural or remove "so" altogether.
