When someone wishes you a happy new year, is "thanks to you too" an appropriate response?
When someone wishes you a happy new year, is "thanks to you too" an appropriate response?

If you’re set on thanking them, I would recommend removing “to” and instead saying “thanks, you too”
A more common response would be to simply respond back with “Happy New Year”
Each are fine, though I’ve almost always used “Happy New Year” instead
