Como é que se diz isto em Inglês (EUA)? she said the supermarket (?opens/opened) at 10 a.m. what should I use,if the information is up-to-date?I'm confused becouse of my English book's explaination according to which we shouldn't only use past tenses when talking about "general truth and facts"

opens = "general truth and facts", AND if we are speaking at a time when the supermarket is closed.
opened = use from 10am until until the supermarket closes. To create more confusion, you could sometimes use this if the supermarket is closed, depending on the context.
I know my answer is a little unclear, but I wanted to try and answer since no one has replied yet.
I don't fully understand this question "what should I use,if the information is up-to-date?", can you rephrase that?
