Likewise can be used in comparing two things which are the same or can be used alone. 日本語で「同じく」や「〜も」に近いです。

E.g Karen can speak 2 languages. Likewise, Sarah can also speak multiple languages.
(カレンさんはニカ国語話せるんだ。
サラさんも同じく数カ国語話せる)
OR
A: I’m excited about tonight!
(今晩楽しみだわ！)
B: Likewise! (私も！)

Otherwise is more like an ultimatum and often paired with “if”.
それが起こらなかった場合には」「それとは違う状況であるならば」という意味を持ちます
