Pergunta sobre Inglês (EUA)
A : How was she when she was at home for the past 2weeks ?
B : She was fine. Sometimes she WOULD run around the house.
Why is ‘would’ used here ?
I thought ‘she RAN around’ is correct because they’re talking about the past.
Is there any different nuance by using ‘would’ in the past situations ?

Ran is usually about ONCE in the past. Since we are talking about how she was at home for 2 weeks, we are talking about more than once. So she “would run” around the house during those two weeks, since she ran many times over the 2 weeks. She didn’t just run one time in the 2 weeks and then stop. i hope that makes sense lol

Oh so then, just simple past refers to one time action, and ‘would verb’ refers to repetitive actions.
Did I get it correctly ?
