「I don't understand」の意味は「分からない」のこと，そして「I can't understand」は「分かれない」のことです。

@gambol "Not much different could use either" is wrong. @sir_reptitious is right: don't understand is right now "I don't understand the answer to this problem," but can't understand is "I will never understand," eg "I can't understand people who speak with American accents."
