There is a greater sense of force of meaning and feeling with “dislike” over “don’t like”.
I don’t like chocolate/shopping/the way those flowers are arranged
These are straightforward statements of what you do not like. If you wish to strengthen these statements you might add “at all/one bit”. Alternatively, the tone of delivery can give greater force to your statement as well as the stress points. Besides that we might also choose to say “I do not like....” with great emphasis on “not”.
However, you wouldn’t ordinarily say you dislike chocolate/shopping/etc, as “dislike” carries with it a deeper, inner feeling, usually personal or related to animals. I don’t believe we would often use the verb with inanimate objects or plants.
I dislike my boss. (There is an underlying feeling of antipathy towards him/her)
I dislike the way I am treated by the staff here.
Having said all that, I don’t think too many people would worry too much over making these distinctions in everyday conversation.
Stay safe, stay well.

dislike comes off a little stronger than don't like. When you 'don't like' something, it doesn't necessarily mean you dislike it but it implies that you likely do. If we compared "dis-" vs "don't" to another word like "respect" (don't respect vs disrespect) then the distinction is a lot clearer where "don't respect" is not give them any more respect (if at all) whereas "disrespect" means to give them less respect.
