The CH sound makes more than one sound. It makes the
/sh/ - machine
/ch - couch, church, march
/q/ - chemistry
It will usually make the /ch/ sound when it is at the end of a word. And the /q/ and /sh/ sounds are pretty random. You just have to learn the pronunciations of the words with CH.
English pronunciation is weird😅
