So the reason we would say “I help with tourism here” would be to add a preposition to the sentence. It proceeds a noun (help) to link other words in a sentence. Kinda like a word bridge.

Sure thing so you wouldn’t want to say “I help tourism here” because as I explained above you would want a preposition to bridge the sentence together so it sounds more natural.
You could say “I help with tourism here” or “I help with the tourism here”
“Help” on its own just means: to assist, to support, or to service. It has more meanings but these are the more common for this example.
“Help with” means to aid someone or something in a task.
