"them" is a neutral pronoun when it talks about one person?
"them" is a neutral pronoun when it talks about one person?
there's a friend that always use this pronoun when he talks about someone (mostly about loving relationships) but not specify about the gender, but I'm not really sure about this

Yes, but it's grammatically incorrect. You should really use he or she, him or her.

Yes! It can be singular sometimes. You can use they/them as a neutral pronoun.

Have you met Jordan before?
No, I haven't met them before.
But if you know their gender, you can use the gender specific pronoun and still sound natural.

They/Them/Their are also used when referring to indefinite pronouns such as "someone/somebody , everyone/everybody and so on.
