Racist shaming is the new curse. It's difficult to defend and only means something to you if you let it. best thing to avoid being cursed is keep your opinions to one's self 😁

Just don’t make jokes or sweeping stereotypes about people’s races and you should be fine. People are more sensitive here about that kind of stuff than some countries our because of our history and continued problems.

putting down/disrespecting other races and pushing the idea of the superiority of your own race is racist. that could be saying racial slurs, spreading false and harmful stereotypes, etc. the way to avoid being called racist is... don’t do racist things?? though not saying that some people aren’t obnoxious and looking to point fingers or start drama. still i find it ironic that you say americans call everyone racist, when, in my experience, lots of americans are pretty blind to racism

It’s only a small amount of people who are actually racist and there is only a small amount of people who call everyone racist.
They are all just very loud about it so it’s very noticeable.
It’s not that big of a deal.
Just try not to generalize based on race or ethnicity to avoid it.
If someone calls you a racist, do not apologize.
They will see it as weakness and bully you more.
Just walk away and ignore the interaction entirely.

There's an understanding that people can be unconsciously racist, letting racial prejudice influence their judgment without actively thinking about it. People who don't understand this overreact to being called racist. They think it's an overall judgment of their character instead of one particular action they did.

I wonder what is going to happen to the news anchor (can’t remember her name though), who accidentally mixed up “Knicks” and “Lakers” and produced something close to N word.
What is even more interesting is what’s the ratio between those who take this racist and those who clearly hears unintentional “Nakers” or maybe “Neekers”.

@Tove_X Yeah, it’s just people looking for excuses to either play the role of the victim or start a fight.
If it’s an honest mistake then it shouldn’t be a big deal.
