Remember to use the same tense as the question in your answer. :)
*Edit: actually, it depends on when he’s asking the question. What you said is grammatically correct, but your answer depends on how he asked the question. If he was questioning when you start every day then you’d say, “He asked what time I start work,” but if he was asking about the near future (one particular instance), you’d say, “He asked what time I started work.”

@Jun_contreras I edited my answer. I think it was misleading. But, yes you can put he asked me at the beginning! Alternatively, you could say: “What time do you start work?” he asked.
