Do you think it’s a good idea to make example sentences when you learn a new vocabulary?
I think that posting them on HiNative to see if they sound natural is going to work. What do you think about it?

@learning257 Yes of course! You have to learn by/in context and you can also use your creativity to make your brain work BUT since you're not a native always make sure the structures you're heading with are alright with the help of resources such this App. 👌

Yes, it's very important to do that! It helps you remember the nuance of the word. You don't have to make up your own sentences for everything if that is too time consuming, getting them from books or even a dictionary works too, so long as it provides you with some sort of context.

Thanks for your response but I didn’t understand all sentences that you wrote quite right.
What does “you’re heading with” mean? Please let me know.:D

@learning257 *to head to+ a place* = going to a certain place with your own free will".
Ex:How far are you heading?=どこまで行かれるのですか
So for extention:if you're heading with a grammar structure it means that grammar point is the current aim you want to reach.I basically used it figuratively. ✌️

@learning257 And also one other thing to make it clearer. @Spurgita mentioned something that looks like the opposite of what I said but actually our 2 tips are quite similar.I'd recommend that you take the stem/grammar stem of a certain structure (from a textbook or a site you know is good ) and - since you're still unexperienced - you change JUST the vocabulary in the textbook sentence keeping the grammar stem the same. You have to be Creative combining the two actions and you're basically learning it by heart.
Ex :I'm you and I'm learning 2 things in English: <the passive form> and <body-related vocabulary>. So I take a sentence <Martha is loved by many people> and I combine the vocabulary I just learned about hair, body, face., <martha is loved by everyone> ~ <Martha's *curly hair*/*wavy hair*/*complexion* etc... is loved by everyone>.役に立てたら嬉しいです

@Leopoldonapos8 I’ve been wondering why so many English teachers always recommend me to make example sentences with using the same structure they teach me. But your explanation makes a lot of sense now. Thank you. I will do my best to make them and post HiNative to make sure they sound natural or not.
