I thought I could say "the information is spread..." but my corrector writes it "the information are spread..."Can we use "are"? I thought we had to use "is" with "information".

@_manon_ You are correct. Information is an uncountable noun. Therefore, you should use "is." Now if you were to say "the pieces of information," then you should use "are."
