Do British or American people know more about sailing than Chinese seeing that the former is of maritime culture while the latter is of agricultural culture？I came up with this question when I looked up “schooner” in the dictionary.So I know now that it’s a middle-sized ship but that’s all I know for now despite the detailed description of what a schooner is in the dictionary because I don’t really understand the whole mast thing which is kind of like jargon for me. I have never seen a sailing ship in real life and I don’t know anyone in my life whose hobby is sailing.Sailing is something quite alien for us.So what kind of role does sailing play in your guys’ life?Do you know more about sailing than us?

I can’t speak for the British but in America, sailing is pretty popular amongst people who live near the coastlines. Also, your question is perfect. :)
