O que significa 堂々たる ?
My take: "Since she (always) comes frist without telling anyone (勝手に), she's left alone for a long time and it seems like this makes her upset and sad."

My take: "If that's the case, seems like playing with the other classmates (meanwhile) would be good but, the students that come to school early as her are model students, while she's a 堂々たる反面模範, so they have no arguments in common (nothing to talk about)"
I get the meaning of the phrases i think (if my interpretations are correct), but i can't seem to understand what the writers meant with 堂々たる反面模範.
"She's the exact contrary of boldness"? Not sure if that makes sense.

my take:
Even though she (always) comes early by her will, it seems that she becomes sad and gets angry since they/he/she let her leave alone.
勝手に by her will, by herself (no one requires her comes early)

my take:
If it is so, she should enjoy with the other classmates meanwhile would be good,
but, unfortunately, the students who come to school early as same as her are admirable model students,
so they don't have common topics with her that is an admirable contrary model student.
模範/ model (students)
反面模範/ contrary model student/ bad student/a student who cannot become a model
堂々たる反面模範 / an admirable contrary model student, a great contrary model student
so, I think that "堂々たる" of "堂々たる反面模範" is a little irony.

反面模範 is not a familiar phrase to me.
there is a word 反面教師.
I think the 反面 is the 反面 of the 反面教師.
