First of all I’d just like to correct you a little. It makes more sense to say I’m obese, whilst obesity is usually used when describing another person :)
(For example: “His obesity”)
As for the answer to your question, overweight is above the expected BMI, however being obese is even more exaggerated. The difference between obesity and being overweight comes down to Body Mass Index (BMI). A BMI of 30 or higher is considered obese.
